Regional Contracting Office Bavaria news release
GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — Staff Sgt. Reonel Delacruz from the 928th Contracting Battalion joined Capt. Bobby Payne of the 3rd Armor Brigade Combat Team (ABCT), 4th Infantry Division Feb. 3, 2017 as he inspected and received leased vehicles desperately needed in support of Iron Resolve.
The critical need came to light after the unit identified a significant capability gap that was affecting their readiness. With extensive acquisition experience and a tireless work ethic, Delacruz assisted the requiring activity with their requirements package, conducted oral solicitations and prepared the contract award.
Typically, the established Procurement Action Lead Time, or PALT, for a procurement of this dollar value is 75 days, in accordance with Army Contracting Command. Delacruz, however, was able to miraculously get a contract award in place in under a week.
Events like this truly highlight the 928th Contracting Battalion’s untiring ability to aggressively pursue several of their Brigade Commander’s Key Tasks. The 928th CBn’s adeptness to expeditiously position a quality procurement instrument — drastically enhancing the unit’s readiness — showcased their pursuit of Inspiring Quality Procurement Ownership.
Additionally, the valuable customer engagement puts a face on the 928th CBn, enhances stakeholder ownership and proves that, time and time again, the 928th CBn is committed to investing in operational contract support at echelon.
The established partnership between the unit and the 928th CBn will no doubt streamline future procurements as the 928th CBn continues to enable readiness at the point of need.
