GRAFENWOEHR, Germany  — The Tower Barracks Main Store will give young Padawans the chance to battle the dark side with a Disney-approved Star Wars experience on October 14th.

Jedi at the Exchange gives children ages 4 through 12 the chance to get free Jedi training, similar to what is offered at Disney theme parks. During each 10-minute session, participants will learn to wield a lightsaber and receive an official certificate stating they have completed the training. Robes and lightsabers will be provided, though young Padawans may bring their own costumes.

The Tower Barracks Main Store event will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 14th in the main store Outdoor Living area. Pre-registration is required, and parents may register their children in the main store entrance area from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 7th.

Parents may also register their children the day of either event if time slots are still available.

“For many military families, Star Wars is more than a movie franchise – it’s a shared passion,” said Susana Sobrino, Exchange general manager. “The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is happy to bring this action-packed entertainment event to our youngest military family members.”

Parents may bring cameras to photograph their junior Jedis. About 11,000 children participated in 44 Jedi at the Exchange events in 2015 and 2016.
