GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — The Tower Barracks Exchange Main Store and the Commissary will participate in a force protection and antiterrorism training exercise Aug. 23 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The exercise will begin at the Exchange Main Store at 8:30 a.m. and will move to the Commissary between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Employees and emergency responders will participate in a training on how to handle active-shooter/terrorist events. While the incident is not real, responses will be practiced in a realistic manner.
These random measures are not in response to any specific threat, but are a standard part of the garrison’s antiterrorism and emergency management programs.
The areas of the exercise will be clearly marked. Customers in the mall/food court area will be alerted by loud speaker prior to the start so they know it is a training event only.
