GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria will soon go live with an innovative, user-friendly new website.
The new website stems from the migration of all U.S. Army Installation Management Command garrisons to a combined content management system.
The USAG Bavaria Public Affairs Office manages the garrison website. In 2015, we built an award-winning site at www.bavaria.army.mil.
In May of 2017, IMCOM directed all garrisons to shift to a one-size-fits all website template. IMCOM mandated this move because garrison websites were not standard throughout the command. The new site creates consistency across all Army garrisons.
More than 70 IMCOM garrisons are migrating to the new platform this fiscal year.
The new website serves all of USAG Bavaria including installations at Grafenwoehr, Garmisch, Hohenfels and Vilseck.
Our new site will be at https://home.army.mil/bavaria.
We have tried to keep many of the same features as the previous one, including a localized news feed, employment openings, a listing of garrison programs and services, contact information and hours of operation, AtHoc mass warning notification registration, a link to road conditions and a newcomers page.
Over the next several months, we will continue to refine the look and layout of the website to ensure you, the community members, have a user-friendly and responsive website to access for your USAG Bavaria needs.
We’ll continue to leverage social media to keep you informed and to field questions. Facebook remains our primary source of communication in a crisis. But we encourage you to explore your other options. Our Twitter feed provides resources from around the military. Our calendar allows you to share or even email events. Our Flickr and Youtube pages are valuable, too (we’ll accept your submissions).
There are a few kinks in the website. Please let us know about them, no matter how small (grammar and punctuation included). The site is a long way from perfect but with your help we can make it stronger.
