A message from the Secretary of Netzaberg Elementary School Student Council

Netzaberg Elementary School student council and members of Grafenwoehr USO on Tower Barracks. NES student council collected snacks to donate to USO.

By Audrey Jones, Fifth-Grade, Secretary, NES Student Council

Thanks to the students at Netzaberg Elementary School and the student council.

In March children at the USO on Tower Barracks in Grafenwoehr were greeted with heaps of snacks called “Dragon Snaxs.”

Through late January to the end of February, snacks were collected and donated by the generous families at Netzaberg Elementary School.

At one point, the student council was even worried that there would not be enough Dragon Snaxs! Well, they were proved wrong by the abundance of snacks donated.

One benefit of this was that everyone, not just the student council and parents, could get involved in community service. The process took many steps including designing the posters and pamphlets, advertising, labeling and organizing the snacks, to actually going to the USO.

I noted that it sure was not easy, having to advertise and hand out pamphlets to everyone, but the effort and teamwork of the student council and several parents paid off in the end. Thank you Netzaberg Dragons! The children at the USO are very thankful for you!
