HOHENFELS, Germany — Senior leaders from the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, U.S.Army Garrison Bavaria Hohenfels, and neighboring German Bürgermeister, Polizei and higher ranking officials convened in Laaber Oct. 10 to enhance community relations and friendships.

Community Connector is a significant event where the U.S. leadership shares information with their German counterparts. The annual meeting has proved to be a valuable tool for the cooperative and mutually beneficial partnership.

“The Community Connector is a vital event to share information and connect with the surrounding
community leaders to work together to address challenges and generally build on the great
friendships we’ve developed over the years,” said Patrick Rothbauer, deputy garrison manager of the USAG Bavaria Hohenfels community.

The annual get-together provides a way for the partners to inform each other of potential issues, solve problems and highlight opportunities while integrating into a shared community that has become unique to the Hohenfels area.

“The meeting is a trust-building event that allows us to know what is going on within the training area,” said Mayor Hans Schmid of Laaber, host of this year’s get-together. “Seeing the upcoming investments into the training area makes me believe that the U.S. Army will be staying in Hohenfels.”

The event also gave the military personnel the chance to re-connect with their local counterparts, and exchange information and invitations to events in the coming year.
