A message from the USAG Bavaria Safety Office

 

Fireworks on Army Installations:

 

• AE Reg 600-1, Regulated Activities in Europe, 20 May 09, Par. 26 d states that “Personnel will not use or ignite fireworks or flares on places under the control of the U.S. Army.”

 

Fireworks Off-post:

 

• Fireworks in Germany are only sold between December 28 – 31. They are “only to be used on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.”

 

• Fireworks in Germany are only sold to used by persons 18 years of age.

 

Safety Tips:

 

• Don’t use homemade fireworks.

 

• Only use fireworks outdoors.

 

• Obey all local laws for the use of fireworks.

 

• Parents should pay special attention to children using sparklers. Sparklers can reach temperatures up to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit.
