Bavaria Community and Spouses Club news release

The Bavaria Community and Spouses Club (BCSC) is pleased to announce that during the 2019-2020 board year, BCSC distributed $128,188 in Community Outreach Grants and Scholarships to the USAG Bavaria community. This is a record distribution total for the club in one board year.

BCSC greatly appreciates the community’s support in fundraising efforts to support BCSC grants and scholarships, which are primarily based on the profits from both BCSC Thrift Shops in Grafenwoehr and Vilseck as well as the annual Crown Jewel Bazaar.

Forty-eight scholarships were awarded during the 2019-2020 club year, which runs from June 1 – May 31. Thirty-seven of those scholarships went to continuing education students, while eleven were awarded to high school seniors.

Fifty-eight Community Outreach Grants were awarded to community groups. Those organizations include Soldier Family Readiness Groups, DODEA Programs and Athletic Teams, Private Organizations and Military Organizations.

Membership in BCSC is open to all DOD ID holders 18 and up. Membership benefits include access to monthly social functions, 20 percent off non-consignment items at both BCSC Thrift Shops, eligibility for BCSC Scholarships, and participation in Sub-Clubs based on special interests.

The new membership year for 2020-2021 opened June 1. The membership form can be found online at and dues may be paid online as well.

Scholarship and Community Outreach Grant application deadlines for the 2020 Fall Cycle will open in September.
