GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — Twenty-six German and American civilian employees were honored by Col. Christopher Danbeck, commander of U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria, at a Length of Service Ceremony on Nov. 18, 2020, at the USAG Bavaria Tower Barracks Headquarters.

“Despite all the changes and challenges on a regular basis, especially this year, there has been one thing that remained steady and unchanged — your loyalty and your dedication to the mission and to the customers we serve,” Danbeck said in his opening remarks.

The ceremony also honored two individuals, Chirles Harris and Anita Pscherer, for 45 years of service.

Pscherer, a German local national employee, has been working as a translator for the Tower Barracks Directorate of Public Works since Apr. 15, 1975.

“It’s been a wonderful time. I am very glad to be working for the U.S. Army,” Pscherer said. “The working conditions and the people around me are what made me stay.”

Pscherer plans to continue working for DPW for at least another year.

During the ceremony, Roger Muzzy, an operations specialist for USAG Bavaria, was recognized for 35 years of service.

“I love the garrison, the community and the people,” Muzzy said. “There is no other place I’d rather be.”

There are 960 years of combined service between the 26 German and American garrison employees recognized during the ceremony.
