GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — Christmas is just days away, and with tighter COVID-19 restrictions imposed until Jan. 10, 2021, most traditional holiday activities are not being observed this year. However, one safe activity that you can always enjoy, either alone or with family, is a Christmas themed movie.

Christmas movies for adults (18+) both modern and classic include:

  • “Krampus” directed by Michael Dougherty
  • “The Night Before” directed by Jonathan Levine
  • “Joyeux Noël” directed by Christian Carion
  • “Scrooged” directed by Richard Donner
  • “National Lampoons Christmas Vacation” directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik

Movies for the whole family to enjoy include:

  • “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston
  • “The Christmas Chronicles” directed by Clay Kaytis
  • “A Christmas Carol” directed by Robert Zemeckis (third adaptation)
  • “The Polar Express” directed by Robert Zemeckis
  • “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” directed by Ron Howard (live-action version)
  • “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas” directed by Alex Mann, Bradley Raymond, Jun Falkenstein, Toby Shelton, and Bill Speers
  • “Home Alone” directed by Chris Columbus
  • “A Christmas Story” directed by Bob Clark

A movie night is not complete without snacks! So do not forget the popcorn, hot chocolate, gingerbread house and decorated cookies.
