VILSECK — The Army & Air Force Exchange Service began renovating the Rose Barracks Express to enhance the quality of life for those serving far from home.

 

The Express is receiving its first major renovation, since it was built more than 22 years ago. The renovation will take place during the next 10 weeks, with an estimated completion by June 2022. 

 

The updated Express will feature a new queue line for checkout. Other upgrades, which will enhance the shopping experience and keep the Exchange aligned with industry standards, include:

  • Updated features
  • Upgraded walk-in coolers and doors
  • Updated snack avenue
  • New flooring

 

The Exchange is funding the $1 million upgrade. One-hundred percent of Exchange earnings support the military community, including enhancements to the shopping experience such as the Express renovation at Rose Barracks.

 

“The Exchange is excited to deliver a better and more streamlined shopping experience,” said Grafenwoehr Exchange General Manager Jerry Shugart. “We will remain open during the renovation, and will make the project as seamless as possible for our shoppers.”

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday – Thursday: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Friday – Saturday: 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Sunday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
