GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — The Rose Barracks Law Center received the Army Chief of Staff Award for excellent service to the military community at U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria, during fiscal year 2021. Among the small team division, this team went above and beyond serving customers, which included all tenant units, rotating troops and international patrons.
“We always try to find a way for our customers,” said Cpt. Rafael Santiago.
The Rose Barracks Law Center solved 9,661 cases across the community, valued at $970,205. The small, but mighty team, consists of five individuals — a mix of Soldiers, civilians and local national employees.
“It’s always nice to be recognized for good work,” said Maureen Sides, legal assistant at the Rose Barracks Law Center. “But at the end of the day, the most rewarding thing is to help the community — the Soldiers, the families and civilians.”
The team handles naturalization and immigration issues, family law and a large variety of other cases and tasks. Furthermore, they are continuing excellent work into 2022.
“We’ve done a lot more in fiscal year 2022,” said Sides. “We already accomplished more than $1.5 million, together.”
The legal team works to find solutions for everyone, and they works closely together with other paralegals — especially 2d Cavalry Regiment and 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, who are located in the same building on Vilseck.
“We are proud what we do, and we do it well,” said Santiago.
