GRAFENWOEHR, Germany — United States Garrison Bavaria recognizes Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Katherine Porter, who works as a Child and Youth Services Program Review Board Administrative Support Assistant.

Porter is recognized for her outstanding dedication to duty and a key figure in USAG Bavaria Child and Youth Services (CYS) successful  daily operations.

Porter has been serving as an USAG Bavaria MWR professional for 3 years.

Currently employed with USAG Bavaria CYS since January 2018, Porter has introduced new and innovative ideas for the organization to help improve its processes.

As a military spouse, she has brought her talents, expertise and experience in working with children and families to the garrison’s Program Review Board.  In her short tenure, she quickly reduced the extensive background check backlog throughout USAG Bavaria CYS.

Her critical thinking skills and diligence directly resulted in reducing the time to on-board staff, volunteer coaches and Family Child Care Providers and reducing the time staff are working under Line of Sight Supervision.

Porter’s efforts influenced Solider and Family readiness by providing Soldiers childcare and employment opportunities for family members.

Porter’s teamwork abilities and her excellent administrative skills played a major role in making CYS operations a huge success.

Her professionalism and care for Soldiers, civilians and families reflect great credit upon her and USAG Bavaria.
